Gentle Ben: A Texas story.
Ricky graduated from Texas A&M, Class of '85, and went on to live his life, but he just couldn’t shake the inspiration he got from his dad. His mission brought him back to his alma mater where he partnered with Texas A&M scientist and professor Dr. Ben Mosier, Class of '48, to further develop the revolutionary process that is the unique signature of Gentle Ben.
As we said 'Goodbye' to Ricky in January of this year, we vowed to keep his legacy ever present at Gentle Ben. We wholeheartedly believe that Gentle Ben's innovative, Texas-born technology will continue to influence the art of distilling far beyond this lifetime.

Leading a team of like-minded scientists, Ben developed the unique technology that makes Gentle Ben possible. It was only fitting that we named our brand after him (yep, that's Ben there).

Congeners are naturally-occurring elements in bourbon that effect its flavor and character. Our limited Straight Cask Strength Bourbon Whiskey begins with a high rye bourbon, specially crafted to remove certain congeners that cause harshness, while maximizing its complex flavors of maple, cherry, and tannins. Aged three years and bottled straight from the barrel, it is amazingly smooth and enjoyable despite its formidable strength.

Gentle Ben uses a unique, proprietary distillation enhancement technology called Persedo C.R.A.F.T.® to create spirits of unparalleled smoothness. C.R.A.F.T.® stands for the "Controlled Removal and Finishing Technique".
We begin with traditionally distilled spirits of the finest quality. But in even the most premium vodka, gin, or bourbon are elements called congeners. Certain congeners are the compounds responsible for the bite. The burn. The harshness we’ve all learned to expect and even tolerate in return for the flavor, aroma, richness, or crispness of our favorite drink. Our technology has been engineered and perfected to finally eliminate these congeners, and this compromise.
At the same time, we carefully balance the enhancement of certain other natural elements in each spirit to bring out even more flavor. So the result is the removal of the burn and the maximization of the enjoyment, no matter what spirit you choose.
